Explaining that you are an adviser usually involves talking as much about what you aren't as what you are. The hype around investing creates the illusion that we finance folks spend our time reading charts and graphs like treasure maps. Occasionally, we shout Euruka, X marks the spot, and we start digging (investing). As a big Indiana Jones fan, that sounds fun, but it's very not true.
